Cultural Festival

Hurray! Off we go to the Cultural Festival. It was hard to sit still on the bus ride there. When we did get there and inside I remembered how cold you can be with a thin top with straps and a thin tight skirt! Unfortunately we had to wait there for ages, luckily a parade of children came past in amazing costumes. A few minutes later a staff member came to take us backstage. When we got there we had to wait for the group before us to finish their performance. I was in the second row in between Demi and Ashley who were in front of me. Our performance was great. I had butterflies in my stomach at the start but they flew away. The audience clapped and clapped for us. I can't wait until next year!

Mud football

On Saturday we asked Miss Nobel to come to the soccer game. Then 2mins to go until  kick off when we got on the field   it was all muddy, watery and sloppy. It was kick off, first I was attack then soon Miss Nobel was cheering for us. We lost 0-1 but we enjoyed the game!

Cultural Festival

Tomorrow the kapa haka people are going to the CBS arena  to perform the haka and some songs. We are performing in the afternoon we are riding on the bus. I am scared because we might get some actions wrong. The kapa haka people have been practising lots. It will be really fun because it will be a cool stage it is going to be a long bus ride.

The winner is .....

We went to watch The Winner is...It was really fun and it was interesting. The actors were really funny because the boy was mean to the girl.
The story was not all about winning, it was about team effort.

Gym School Fun

The music started, the birdy dance was underway. We were warming up for our gym adventure!
Next we were put into 6 groups for a variety of fun activities. There were so many things to do and so much equipment...we couldn't wait.
Climb, stretch, pull, tiptoe, roll and bounce! We were so busy practising our skills.

"My favourite was doing flips onto the fat mat," said Wyatt exhaustedly.
"I loved jumping into the foam pit, then climbing up the high rope," exclaimed Molly.
"Balancing on the beam was fun for me," said Lily happily.
"Pulling myself up on the bars made me feel strong," explained Ethan.

Our muscles are a bit achy today but it was worth it. Gym School was the best!

Our Statistical Investigations

Today in class we did a graph about what people would do at a birthday party. We had nine groups and we all asked the class different questions. Some of the question were:
* where would you go for your birthday,
*what treat food would you have,
*what treat drink would you have.
We surveyed our classmates to find their favourite choices.
Miss Noble showed us an example of how to graph the results by some people in room 9.
Our graphs look just as good!! Come and see them up on our wall.

The newbees and the oldees in room 7

In room 7 we have one new student called Om . He used to be living in Christchurch but he moved to Auckland because of the earthquakes and moved back down to live in Christchurch. We are very HAPPY for him to come to this School. He is a delight in our class he is very smart and nice, kind and helpful. He has fitted in well.
There is an old student called Carter. He used to live in Christchurch
he moved to Australia for about a year he's came back all pumped up and ready for school again!  He's made more friends. He's had a great start to the year. When you see them both in the playground please be nice and let them join in with games.
